Genre Consideration

Browsing through YouTube, finding music videos to analyse led me to rediscover South Korean R&B tracks which don't generally fit into popular culture (as 'pop' usually does) and thus I think I'd be more capable of creating a music video for one of these tracks as I only have two remaining actors. This does mean that I need to do some more research into the R&B genre in South Korea so I will provide a post to do with this.

Furthermore, I will research into R&B music videos and analyse them in that genre. I imagine this will be rather difficult as many tracks that I have looked at are not promoted through music videos, rather, aesthetic album covers.

On the other hand, the fact that these artists do not own music videos to their tracks could make it easier for me to choose one to make a music video for as I won't have to worry about accidentally re-creating the existing music video.

R&B artists in South Korea are usually lesser known than artists belonging to the 'pop' genre, therefore, it may be easier for me to acquire permission to use their music for a music video, as they are less likely to be signed.

Artists I should consider for tracks include:
  • 니아 Nieah (Unsigned)
  • Heize (CJ E&M)
  • Suran (Million MArket)
